Dakotah's Story | Surviving Overdose
Dakotah's father, Chris, found her unresponsive with a needle next to her: An apparent overdose of heroin. The 911 call and administration of Narcan saved Dakotah's life. As of 2024, Dakotah is in recovery, a mother to three children, and pointing others to recovery opportunities as the former Women's Home Supervisor at One Eighty, and current Director of Operations. August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day - it's a day to mourn those who did not survive and celebrate the life and recovery of those who did. And it's an opportunity to point those who need help to the amazing transformation that is possible when they choose the recovery pathway.
