Mentoring at One Eighty
We believe that the relationship between mentor and resident is one of the most important aspects of the program. That's why our goal is to equip our mentors and residents with the tools they need to build and sustain a strong, supportive relationship that fosters growth, learning and healing.

If you are a current mentor and need further information or would like to be added to the e-mail list for additional monthly communication, please contact the house staff or the volunteer experience manager.

2024 Mentor Handbook
We provide clear guidelines and expectations to help navigate the mentor/resident relationship and understand how our program works. This handbook includes our mentor description, mentor and resident expectations, mentoring guidelines, staff involvement and communication, what happens if the resident leaves the program, our phone and media policy, information about our career training program, etc.
Event Calendar
At One Eighty, we believe that building a strong community is one of the keys to our success in supporting our residents. That's why we organize a variety of events throughout the year that we invite our mentors to attend! Our Annual Event Calendar is designed to provide mentors with a comprehensive overview of all the major events and activities that we have planned for the year. We encourage all our mentors to save these dates on their own calendars and to ask us how they can get involved.

We also provide a monthly resident calendar that lists all the upcoming events and activities that are specifically for our residents. This includes things like Bible studies, classes, and events.
One Eighty Resident Classes
We believe that our classes are an important part of our program and play a vital role in helping our residents achieve their goals. Classes include Finance Class, Life Skills, How Not to Pick a Jerk, Employment Prep, Genesis (Relapse Prevention), Ultimate Journey, and The Turn. We encourage all our mentors to explore the classes we offer and to support their residents as they go through the learning process.
Recovery Capital
Building recovery capital is an essential part of the journey to long-term recovery for our residents. As a mentor you can help the resident build a collection of resources, strengths, and assets that they can draw upon to support their recovery such as personal relationships skills, knowledge, and experiences.
Mentoring Tools
At One Eighty, we provide our mentors with a range of tools and resources to support their work with our residents. These tools are designed to help mentors facilitate meaningful connections with their residents, support their recovery journeys, and build supportive relationships.
