For millions of Americans, Super Bowl Sunday is synonymous with beer coolers, drinking games, and overindulgence. But for the 25 million Americans living in recovery, the biggest game of the year can be one of the most challenging days on the calendar.
This year, One Eighty is offering a different kind of game-day experience — one that’s focused on connection, community, and recovery momentum.
On Sunday, February 8, from 4 – 9 pm, One Eighty will celebrate the grand opening of The Zone Recovery Lounge, a brand-new recovery-friendly gathering space created specifically for graduates of its whole-life transformation programs. The opening comes just in time for the Super Bowl.
A Former Tavern, Reclaimed for Recovery
Located at 1402 W. 7th in Davenport, The Zone was formerly known as the Chief Tavern. Today, it’s been completely transformed into a temptation-free recovery lounge where One Eighty alumni can gather to watch sports, shoot pool, throw darts, and encourage one another in a safe, sober environment.
The renovation was completed by One Eighty alumni and the One Eighty Enterprises remodeling crew — all of whom once struggled with addiction themselves.
“This space is about more than watching a game,” said Jenny Halupnik, One Eighty Director of Engagement. “It’s about helping people in recovery build new traditions, new relationships, and a new sense of belonging — especially on days that can be triggering.”
Super Bowl Grand Opening Details
The public is invited to attend the grand opening of The Zone at 1402 W. 7th Street in Davenport on Sunday, February 8, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a snack and stay to watch the big game if they wish.
While The Zone will be open regularly for One Eighty alumni and their guests, the Super Bowl opening offers the wider community a chance to see how recovery-friendly spaces can help people sustain long-term change.
Special thanks are extended to the Hubbell Waterman Foundation for recognizing the opportunity and investing in creating The Zone and to the many One Eighty alumni who contributed countless hours of sweat equity to make the space possible.
